March 2011 Newsletter

Not long now to the season kick off for all teams for 2011.

The first practice match is this Sunday against Tullamarine @ Leo Dineen Reserve - Spring Street, Tullamarine 3043. Melway Ref 15 H2. The under 18's / Reserves will play a 6 quarter extravaganza commencing at 11am, followed by the seniors at 2pm.

On Saturday the 26th March the Devils will be taking on Rockbank away and then on the 2nd April, Melton South @ home.

The commences at home against Glenorden, followed by another home clash in round 2 against Sunshine Heights. The premiership flag will be raised in round 2 and the game will enjoy Match of the Day status, with the radio boys from 88.9 WYN FM in attendance. See attached fixture.

Recruits - For those keeping an eye out on the WRFL website (www.wrfl.asn.au),  they will notice that the Devils have some new players in the ranks. Some of these guys will be topliners so there is much excitement. We have lost a few decent players from last year, but with the new recruits, the coaching staff still working a on a few late signings and some decent kids coming up from the 18's, the Devils will be in a good position to have a decent crack at division 1. From next week, the Devils will be back training 2 nights a week (Tuesday, Thursday).  The under 18's are training on Monday and Thursday nights. For more specific information contact the following people;

Barry Borlase has started a great new club for all Devil supporters. Please read attached and consider. It is a terrific concept.

The club is also in need of trainers (either qualified or non-qualified) for season 2011. For those who are non-qualified, the club will provide training and pay for the appropriate course. Please contact Sam Fenech on 0412 017 118 if you are interested or know of someone who may be.
The club has still some prospective recruits lined up from the country if we can help them secure work. In particular, we are seeking employment for electricians, plumbers, a 2nd year electrical apprentice, 2nd year bricklayer and any ongoing casual work. If you can help please contact David Battistella (0407 884 634) or myself ( 0408 546 173). Any offers of work would be much appreciated!

A small team has already been working hard to already secure some companies on board for season 2011. However, any level of support would be much appreciated.
